Wearable analog devices for expanding sonic experiences.
The human auditory system shapes our perception of sound. A large part of this system is the outer ear, the anatomical structure that influences how we hear and interpret sounds.
Recognizing the relationship between the structure of our ears and the auditory experience, this project aims to change and challenge human perception by introducing a wearable device that extends the outer ear, opens up new dimensions of auditory exploration, and questions human hearing and perceptual possibilities.
Amelia Eickhoff is a German artist who questions the relationship between humans and their connection to individual and collective environments. She explores human perception, behavior, and interaction by deconstructing them through speculative objects and installations.
